This place on Venice Blvd. near Culver City has a wonderful selection of jalopies, beaters, and a few classics. I’m not sure I’d trust any of them, but it’s a pretty fun collection.
The Land Rover is probably the winner here, but I sure like that red Toronado and the Alfa.

Cooooooooo-gar!!!
Love the Alfa and that MkIII, too—

Dennis buys cars*
*as long as you’re cool and don’t tell Dennis’ wife!!!

The only reason I can see for moving to a metropolitan area is to do this, attempt to make a living buying and selling interesting cars

Yeah, it seems like Dennis has it figured out.

Ah, there you got the Toronado from... I was thinking the Landy to be the winner as well, way up until... You showed that Alfa!!!! NO DOUBT HERE!

Yeah, I love that Alfa. I’m sure there’s a lot of work in there, but I guess a well sorted one would still have a lot work in its future. And, it’s a California car, so it’s a rare rust-free one. Which means it probably has rust somewhere, but not like normal.

I looks pretty solid compared to the euro trash I’m used to! Just look at the doors and rockers!

Venice is such an odd area. Some parts look so sketchy, then suddenly Aston Martin Vanquish in a mechanic’s lot next to a Bently next to a beat up Grand Prix.

Totally. It’s gotten so expensive, but you still have a bunch of oldtimers there.

HOLY FUCK

It’s obviously been sitting for a while, but it’s solid as a rock, yeah. You don’t find them like that any more.

Maybe you should get it. Brighten up the #streetsofglendale a bit.

Well, there’s a Citroën LNA soon to be on its way to add some personality to the neighborhood. That red-orange Mustang II would add some color to the place.
![]() 04/23/2018 at 05:21 |

Is it orange? Is it salmon? Another one my mum would at least disinherit me for.
![]() 04/23/2018 at 22:27 |

I think it was red that has faded to salmon. I’d repaint it the salmon color, because that’s nice. But, it is admittedly flashy. Slow, but flashy. Kind of how I like my cars.

Haha, “how I like my cars”? You got a T5!!! That’s not slow?

It’s true. Just don’t tell anyone. It’ll spoil my image.
![]() 04/25/2018 at 04:14 |

It’s doing that already. Too modern.
![]() 04/25/2018 at 22:36 |
|
I know. It’ll be 10 years old next year, which might be just enough.
![]() 04/26/2018 at 03:36 |

With all those electronics it will always be too modern for you I’m afraid. You need an analog drive.
![]() 04/26/2018 at 23:53 |
|
It’s true, and you can’t turn all the nannies off. You can have most of them off, but some kind of computer control still happens. At least the clutch and shifter are analog. No other controls are.
![]() 04/27/2018 at 12:37 |
|
And the biggest control unit is the FWD. Just stop flooring it and the tires will get grip again. Eventually.

I’ve learned that. I’ve pretty much stopped hopping and screeching when the light turns green. I think it’s the highest horsepower fwd car I’ve ever had. Once you get going it’s fun.
![]() 04/29/2018 at 13:57 |
|
Ain’t it the highest horsepower car either (FWD/RWD/AWD) way?
![]() 05/02/2018 at 00:09 |
|
I think so, yeah. It beats a lot of my cars combined.
![]() 05/04/2018 at 09:07 |
|
Probably even 4+ combined!
![]() 05/05/2018 at 00:04 |

At least. LNA + Subaru 360 + Fulda + BMW 600 is still only about half the HP as the C30.
![]() 05/05/2018 at 04:20 |

Haha, it was a conservative guess alright. Just don’t add the Pacer or the Wagoneer.
![]() 05/05/2018 at 21:57 |
|
Yeah, they will skew the results, but that Pacer didn’t hit triple digits even with 6 cylinders.

90 horses! NINETY! And 1000Nms of Torque to compensate!
![]() 05/10/2018 at 00:24 |

Straight six FTW! When they put a 4-speed in them, they were pretty fun.

Torque and rear wheel drive without a torque converter equals awesomeness.

Yup. Works every time.
